Improving Lives of Women in Grand Prairie, Texas

Are you or do you know a special woman or teen that could apply?

Soroptimist International of Grand Prairie has several opportunities for scholarships, grants, and awards that improve the lives of women and girls in our community. We raise funds from our one large annual fundraiser, along with community donations, to continue providing these valuable resources to just the right person or organization.

LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD:

These women and families have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, teen pregnancy, and drug or alcohol addiction. Live Your Dream Awards recipients may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation.

Provides the primary financial support for yourself and your dependents. Dependents can include children, spouse, partner, siblings and/or parents.
Has financial need.
Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
Is motivated to achieve your education and career goals.

The application is open from August 1 to November 15 every year.

LIGGETT SCHOLARSHIP

A $1000 Award to a:

GPISD Female Graduating Senior.
She must be interested in pursuing a career in working with the elderly or the disabled.
Minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 Scale)

WOMEN INVESTING IN WOMEN GRANT

Soroptimist of Grand Prairie believe investing in our women and our community is key to continued success.

That is why we developed this $1000 Grant.

To be eligible you:

Must be a Women-owned business in the Grand Prairie area
Have demonstrated resilience by overcoming obstacles while giving back to their community
Be in business less then 5 years

Graduating female senior in Grand Prairie ISD

Must be attending an educational institution of higher learning or trade school

Minimum 2.5 (4.0 Scale)

Provide two (2) reference letters

A copy of high school transcript (unofficial is acceptable)

Honoring Her Scholarship

This scholarship allows us to continue to advance our Girl of the Month recipients access to continue their education journey. We encouraging senior girls to apply for this $1000 scholarship, after we celebrate them at our Girl of the Month breakfast. We also invite the applicants to our annual Sneaker Ball where we present the winner with their scholarship.
